Tournament History
Dark Rapids
Course: Headwaters / Blueberry Pines
"Twelve men set out for the tall pine trees and clear lakes of Minnesota. The light beer was flowing like gasoline through a 2003 Yamaha Jet Ski. Six rounds, three days, one cabin, and a year nobody will soon forget. The Skizzards captained by Brandon Forister captured the title with 97.5 points, edging out Floming at the Mouth (91.5 points) across six matches. The Skizzards swept all three Best Ball matches on Day 1 to build a commanding lead, Brandon Forister and Brady Morgan took their Scramble match 6-3, and Brandon Forister closed out Ian Hamilton 5-4 in the final Individual Matchplay to seal the title."
Where the Foothills Touch the Greens
Course: The Powder Horn
"Back in Wyoming, old rivalries never go away — they reappear much like a Wyoming wildflower that renews life every spring. O.M.I.T.G., captained by Cam Morgan with Sam Suzor, Drew Milner, and Clayton Dickson, bloomed late to take it 68–58 over Mike Leibrich's Lil Beaves. Day 1 was a dogfight at 28–26, but Day 2 saw O.M.I.T.G. pull away. Clay & Sam's 6–3 best ball win over Brandon & Maldo shifted the momentum, and the Sunday singles confirmed it — Drew downed Ian 5.5–3.5 and Sam closed out Brandon by the same margin. Cam and Maldo's 4.5–4.5 deadlock was the only blemish on a dominant Sunday."
The West Was Won
Course: The Powder Horn
"The NTI headed west to Wyoming and The Powder Horn, where Team Puppy Paws — Drew Milner's squad of Sam Suzor, Cam Morgan, and Brandon Forister — ran away with it 72–54. Day 1 was tight at 29–25, but Day 2 was a rout. Cam & Drew's 7–2 demolition of Clayton & Maldo in the best ball set the tone, and the Sunday singles sealed it: Cam dispatched Clay 6.5–2.5 while Drew and Ian fought to a 4.5–4.5 stalemate that summed up Team 450 CC's weekend — close, but never quite enough. Team 450 CC's, captained by Maldo, never recovered."
A Rivalry is Born
Course: Trappers Turn & Sand Valley
"Eight men ventured into the woods of Wisconsin with nothing but clubs, coolers, and a questionable handicap system. Day 1's 2v2 match play set the tone — Maldo & Morgz ran roughshod to 25 points while Brandon & Clay mustered just 11. Team Sam stormed back on Day 2, posting 137 Stableford points behind Clayton's tournament-best 42. But Day 3 belonged to Team Ian: Morgz's 37 and Ian H's 34 flipped the script, sealing a 281–274 victory and the first-ever NTI rings. The drama wasn't confined to the scorecard, though — midway through the weekend, one of the team members packed it in and left the tournament early, forcing a reshuffle and leaving the boys short-handed for the final round."
